Welcome to The Isle of Skye Baking Company!
Established in 2007, by Barry and Liza Hawthorne, to make shortbread and oatcakes on the island, the bakery has grown over the years to bake and make breads, cakes, preserves, and more.
The old woollen mill building in Portree houses the bakery kitchen, and Skyeworks Gallery. Bakery produce is available at farmers markets each weekend and on Somerled Square every Thurday.
Packed lunches for individuals or larger tour groups resume in March 2025. As these are super popular, it is advised that bus tours book their lunches in advance.
Bespoke catering is available for special occassions. From grazing platters to elopement picnics – please don’t hesitate to enquire.
